Agios Leon is a pretty mountain village situated on the unspoilt west coast of Zakynthos. It is named after a Bishop of Catania in Sicily, who when canonized became Saint Leon, and a church was built in his honor in the village in the 14th Century.

Another chapel is to be found in the village, which is unique on the island as its bell tower is housed in a windmill.
There are a handful of shops with local handmade products and this village is easily accessible by car providing the chance to see some beautiful scenery on the drive there.

It is also famous for Porto Roxa and Porto Limniona. These are two of the most well hidden secrets of the island. Steep rocks that lead you to deep, clear and cold waters with all the shades of blue and green. It is a feast for the eyes and welcomes the brave that wish to dive from various heights and the less bold that prefer to slide in the water to enjoy this aquatic experience.
