The Vassilikos peninsula, on the south east coast of the island is reached by a very winding and dramatically scenic drive. The surrounding countryside is just waiting to be explored.
This area deep in the south consists of little settlements and boasts some of the most wonderful sandy beaches on the island, St Nicholas Beach, gently shelving to the sea is a very picturesque setting and is reputed to have the best scuba diving on the island. Watersports are widely available overall, this is a perfect holiday spot for families and couples alike.
The resort is spread out among winding roads, olive groves and local farms. There are some excellent tavernas selling local delicacies, a few mini markets and bars.
Vassilikos is very popular with visitors from surrounding areas and with its beautiful coves and turquoise sea, it's not hard to see why.
