Agios Dimitrios is a pretty mountain village, on the unspoilt west coast of Zakynthos. The village is named after a Bishop of Catania in Sicily, who when canonized became Saint Dimitrios, and a church was built in his honor in the village in the 14th Century.
Another chapel is to be found in the village, which is unique on the island as its bell tower is housed in a windmill.
There are a handful of shops in this village which is easily accessible by car, providing the chance to see some beautiful scenery on the drive there.
