Gyri village is the highest village on the island at 550 m above sea level and offers spectacular views. Located in the middle of the island, it has been here since the 15th Century.
It offers stunning mountain scenery, rich with wildlife and tranquility - the only sounds being the sweet melody of birdsong. Near Gyri are the unexplored Hagioti and Black Caves.
It is a very tranquil village, as the whole of the west coast of Zante is rural and undeveloped; the ideal place to visit and feel at one with nature, escape crowds and the stress of modern life.
